The story of Memme Majutus
Memme Majutus is named in memory of my beloved Memme, Alice Kants, who offered accommodation to holidaymakers from Russia in the same house in the early 1960s. Memme was my great-grandmother; at her request, her grandchildren called her Memme. Their children and grandchildren continued this tradition. At that time, Pärnu was a popular resort town, and in the summer, many tourists visited the city. As Memme had learned to be a masseuse, this skill helped her to add value to the accommodation. At the time between the two world wars, during Memme’s childhood, it was possible to buy hot bread at the historical house, because then a bakery was located here. I was three years old when Memme left us, but I know that she spent a lot of time with me, and that is why the stories I heard about her became an inspiration to me to recreate a cozy accommodation with traditions and with added value. I often look at this old black and white image. I remember the cozy Sunday mornings of childhood with the hot pancakes made by Memme and the heart-warm hugs she generously delivered. I know that Memme is very much in agreement with me. I feel her support and warm, friendly breath every time I prepare rooms for you, dear visitors. OÜ Memmemajutus was reopened in the summer of 2016. Located in the downtown area of Pärnu, this historic house is the perfect place to spend a great holiday with family or friends.
We have three cozily renovated spacious 2-room apartments. Each apartment has four main beds, and it is possible to add a baby cot. There is everything you need for an ideal holiday: a spacious living room with a kitchenette with everything you need for cooking, a toilet, a shower room, shower accessories, bed linen, towels, free wifi, parking, and some apartments have a bath and sauna.
In addition, you can breakfast in the morning in the terrace café in the garden or enjoy our private spa center with saunas and a hot tub.
The house is close to the Selver grocery store and a 5-minute walk from Pärnu Beach.
